Summer Camps : 2017


7-11 Year-Olds and 12-17 Year-Olds

Students will have 1 1/2 hours of improv and 1 1/2 hours of on-camera auditioning training.  You will receive casting links each day as well as appear in a final improv performance.

Dates: July 31 - August 4th

Times: 10AM - 1:15PM (7-11 year-olds) and 1:45PM - 5:00PM (12-17 year-olds)

Rate: $275

Classes sizes are very limited.  All students will get a special rate on headshots by Betsy.

Adults On-Camera Audition and Improv Workshop

Students will use improv to become comfortable being "real" for the camera.  They will learn to embrace spontaneity and make emotional choices for delivery of lines.

Date: TBD

10:00AM - 12:00PM : On-Camera Auditions with recorded sessions and reviews.

12:00PM - 12:30PM : Lunch Break

12:30PM - 2:30PM : Improv into On-Camera Acting.

Improv Teacher : Michael Harris

Michael Harris has been the Artistic/Executive Director of Baltimore Improv Group (BIG) since 2010, and performs as a member of Evan the Loyal.  He has performed at Improv and Comedy Festivals from NYC to Chicago and Philadelphia to Austin.  Michael has created/directed numerous BIG shows.  A member of the faculty at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in D.C., he has taught Improvisation, Commedia dell Arte, Voice and Movement as well as various performance projects at the school.  He has performed at The Studio Theatre, Signature Theater and the Kennedy Center, amongst other locations and is a member Actors' Equity.

Scott Goodhue and Betsy Royall, C.S.A.

Scott and Betsy work together as casting directors at Taylor Royall.

They've combined talent with industry professionals for years on a wide spectrum of national and regional commercials, print campaigns, voice over projects, television series and feature films.

While making great talent discoveries possible, Scott handles the operations and casting session auditions.  He's also appeared in national t.v. spots, print, comedy improv troupes and indie projects.

Betsy has been active in the business for over 30+ years.  She's casting mode natural, always thinking about who would fit in roles.  She is also a board member of Women and Film and Video of Washington and the Actor's Center, both of Washington, D.C. and serves on advisory committees for Stevenson University and Women in Film and Video of Maryland.
